Otherworldly
So we all went back to Tenerife. What a joy!
*
In the morning, while the boys played on the huge terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, I would drive up the narrow winding roads to the Teide volcano cable car station (2356m). Listening to my own music, instead of Juf Roos, exploring Mars.
*
The cable car station was brought back to life by artist Gabriel Roca who opened up the restaurant to the otherworldly crater, with four giant Lautner-like windows. The furniture on the new lava-stone floor is designed by Piet Hein Eek and the lamps were collected by Leo Coolen.
My job was to tame the light and document the dramatic ever-changing scenes for a book about the station.
